ARA Ireland is recruiting a Campaigns Officer
The ARA Ireland Committee is made up of members from across Ireland and from a variety of different organisations. The aim is to get a broad range of experience and contributions from across the sector to help us represent members and contribute to the progression of the sector.
We would welcome anyone who is interested in the role to contact us for further information. There will be a handover for each role from the previous officer and committee members are more than happy to chat if you have any questions. Officers are required to attend quarterly committee meetings.
The role is as follows:
Manage ARA Ireland's social media accounts*:
Day-to-day running of ARA Ireland's social media accounts including replying to queries and re-sharing posts
Grow followers on existing social media platforms (X/Instagram/Facebook)
Assess the need to expand to other platforms.
Organise the annual ARA Ireland launch of the Explore Your Archive focus week (in-person event, November)
Promote ARA Ireland, its members and our profession through numerous online campaigns including the existing year-long Explore Your Archive campaign, the annual Archives Diaspora campaign, the annual Seachtain na Gaeilge campaign and others.
Manage ARA Ireland's turn hosting @ArchiveHour on X approx every 12-18 months.
Attend and participate in committee meetings.
Maintain good communications with other officers within the region and contribute to activities organised within the region and beyond.
*This will be shared with the Communications Officer who will use social media to promote specific events or ARA Ireland news, and website updates.
Handover from previous Campaigns Officer will be facilitated.
