Kirsty Schaper
Kirsty Schaper is Head of Licensing and Publishing at The National Archives. She oversees all aspects of commercial and non-commercial licensing and publishing at The National Archives with the aim of expanding access to the collection and generating income through commercial partnerships. She is responsible for a rolling programme of tenders for the digitisation and publication of archival content to ensure sustainable income growth.
Kirsty has 18 years' commercial experience in the private and public sector. A publisher by trade, she is a skilled editor and has commissioned titles for a number of academic, education, museum and trade publishers on an array of subjects. Before joining The National Archives in 2022, she was a senior manager at Royal Museums Greenwich responsible for the publishing programme, image and media licensing, intellectual property guidance, prints sales, brand licensing and the photographic studio, as well as responsible for approving editorial content across all departments of the Museum. She was also instrumental in launching two new book imprints for Royal Observatory Greenwich and the National Maritime Museum.
Kirsty is keen to use her business development experience to support ARA’s commercial and revenue-generating activities.
