Louisa Blight

Louisa Blight has been working in the archive, museum and heritage sector for over 20 years and has been a Registered archivist since 2009.

She is currently Head of Collections and Research for the National Museum of the Royal Navy where she is championing ‘archive as object’ for display and engagement.

Louisa is highly experienced in capital project delivery, having previously taken the archives at The Box, Plymouth from an at risk site to a purpose built £47m+ storage and access facility alongside a thriving museum service.

She taught archival practice to archives and heritage students at the University of Plymouth from 2018-2022 and is passionate about quality training provision for future archivists and heritage leaders.

In her spare time, Louisa spends time with her two young sons, ensuring they grow up with a passion for history and heritage too!
